With more than 50 skilled Canadian artists and artisans in the Spruce Moose shop, not only are you supporting Canadian makers, you're also supporting every artisan's Canadian-focussed processes from start to finish, including: Canadian suppliers of raw goods and materials; Canadian collaborators and designers; Canadian printing and manufacturing businesses; and Canadian businesses for branding, marketing, fulfillment, and shipping.

It is no exaggeration to say that purchases at Spruce Moose are helping directly support hundreds of Canadian businesses; businesses who, in-turn, also purchase locally.

Spruce Moose donates a portion of every sale to local charities and organizations, allocating a minimum of $1000 in product (at-cost) annually.

Our donations are typically goods and certificates which are most commonly used as auction items at fundraisers, often raising significantly more than their at-cost donated amount. To date, donated items have raised thousands of dollars for a variety of wonderful local initiatives.

Located in Southwestern Ontario, Salthaven is committed to the care and rehabilitation of sick, injured, orphaned or otherwise compromised wildlife; their goal is to return healthy animals to their natural habitat.

Spruce Moose has funded the planting of over 10,000 trees.

Between 2020-2023, Spruce Moose funded tree planting in areas-of-need through Eden Reforestation Projects; we primarily helped fund mangrove planting on this site in Madagascar and helped to plant trees in 3 different countries!

As quantitative tree-planting became more cost-prohibitive and carbon-offset technologies continued to improve, we shifted our focus away from the number of trees planted and instead prioritized carbon-offsetting and conservation projects.

We automatically offset the carbon emissions for every shipped order using the highest-possible investment tier through Planet by Shopify. Planet has partnered with more than 40 verified carbon removal companies, including Pachama, Climeworks, Grassroots Carbon, Mati, Vaulted, and Planetary Technologies. These partnerships invest in high-impact carbon removal, such as direct air capture, biochar, and ocean-based solutions, rather than just offsetting via reforestation.
